Hi I just finished gcse's and I'm thinking of applying for a summer job, and I need some advice.

I never did work experience because I was away when year 10 work experience was happening, and I never bothered to get any during half term. Should I do work experience first?

Should I do work experience first? then apply for jobs? also, where should I look for jobs? I'm not really interested in places like mcdonalds, but anything else is fine
When I was looking for my first job I applied everywhere and anywhere which I could travel to either by foot or by bus.

I ended up working in a carpet shop (random but true) but it was good experience and made getting future jobs easy

Don't be picky and look down at places. With the attitude of not wanting to work at certain places it'll be hard to get anything.

It'll already be slim picking so don't make it worse. Take anything you can get and apply everywhere. You have no work experience so it'll be even harder. Try volunteering.
