I am currently studying BTEC Extended Diploma in ICT with predicted D*D*D* for completion in June 2015. I'm looking into computing courses and planning in advance for autumn 2014 UCAS application, for 2015 entry. My question is, how good are the computing with business degrees and I understand that they are variations of the standard computing degree, but is it worth studying the joint honours?

Btw, I've always been interested in both computing and business. Just require any advice from current undergraduates.

Planned units to apply for are - Leicester, Kent, Brunel, Lincoln and uni of South Wales.

What are the computing with business degrees like at these uni's and is it worth studying a joint honours (computing with business) rather than computing

It's one of the joint honours degrees that does make sense, so if you're interested in both then I'd go for it. Just makes sure it's accredited by the BCS and then you (and your future employers) know it's guaranteed to meet a certain standard of content.

You'd probably be in the minority if you do it (there's around 110 CS students my year at Bath, and only 6 are on CS with Business) and obviously you'll miss out on some of the CS content, but it's not a bad degree to have.
