If you've complained about an item why would you want to keep it? Return it to the seller

Even if it is a fake?

Why should I return it, so that s/he can resell the goods? They can resell the goods outside of eBay, i.e. at a market or car boot...

If it's fake you can probably get away with handing it over to trading standards. You could have problems if you keep it.

I'm not an expert on this though.

Keep it if you've already got the refund. Seller might kick up a fuss but eBay won't care.
