I have been to open days for industrial design and technology and I know I will need to produce a portfolio, but a question that keeps running through my mind is what do I put into a portfolio for this course? As before I was determining taking an art course and having a portfolio for art would just be my past work and drawings, but what do I need to put into a portfolio for industrial design and technology ?

Anything really, i assume you are doing design or a design related A-Level. You should have a few projects from that surely?

It's just like you said, you should put in different past works that you have done, if you have anything that you have designed/made in your free time that would show you're interested in the subject and are willing to use your own time on it.

Im guessing that your moving on to year13? For my loughborough portfolio for industrial design I had included different projects i have done from my design course like things you have made in school and using machinery. Including this is essential as it is the main point of your portfolio, graphics work like logos and promotional leaflets i had designed for business, included another mini project that another uni told me to do (creating a product) i had also taken pictures of my best artwork i did in art and included it into the portfolio.
