I've been taking 75mg of Effexor for a while no. I think it helps a little, but my main problem is anxiety. I know someone who takes 225mg and he says it really helps his anxiety. I wouldn't want to jump to 225, but could upping my dosage be beneficial? It would be nice to hear about your experiences. Thanks.

    Hi there,

I was also prescribed Effexor for my symptoms, mainly anxiety and depression. I had a very bad reaction to it and was very close to going to the a&e!

How long have you been on the 75MG? Normally it takes around 4-6 weeks for you to see the benefits of it.

Also for upping the dosage, I definitely would not recommend doing that, if you feel as if it's not helping then you should visit your GP and tell them, then they may tell you to increase the dose

    Hope everything works out!

If it doesn't work talk to your GP about a drug called Mirtazapine, its very good for anxiety, particularly when used in combination of a SSRI.

Talk to your GP about it if there is no improvement.

How long have you been on that dose? Might be helpful to up the dose as 75mg isn't terribly high. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks, explain your current symptoms. It's better to stay on Effexor and play around with dosages before completely switching medications...
