    you see, i sometimes get confused with words which is why i didnt get good grades during gcse, i also forget things quite alot. ive got a condiontional offer to study fashion BA (hons) and was wondering if you get any help on assignments or essays like you would at seconday school/ sixthform?

    Not quite the same. What do you mean by help? It's not very likely they'll want to read your drafts, though some might be willing sometimes. If you've got specific problems like understanding what the question means exactly then you can talk to them about that, or tell them you're understanding of the essay question and what you want to write about to see if you're on the right track will be fine. For general essay writing though, you might want to check with your library to see if they hold workshops and help sessions in essay writing or your particular area of difficulty.

    Have you considered the possibility you might be dyslexic? Might be worth getting that checked out. You definitley don't get the same level of help as at school at uni. You can get some help if you approach the tutor but how much depends on them, some will check coursework drafts and encourage this, others think that it is too much help. Extra support is available for students with learning difficulties/disabilities.
