I never hear the word “Escape”
It a word I do not know,
I never speak the word ‘Escape’
It is foreign on my tongue
To escape this world to be with him
To run away and live, complete,
It is a world I will not go:
I don’t want to hear the word “Escape”
“Escape” is not my own…
They say that actions have consequences,
That actions speak louder than words.
But I think silence echoes louder
And evokes desire in nerves.
We sit across the room, occasionally exchanging glances,
He looks at me then down;
I look at him then down
What is this game we play?
We spend the year playing,
Shy, letting the silence carry our emotions.
We cannot speak, we daren’t not to,
The smile in our eyes, fades as we depart
For this is the end of our relationship,
In silence and in tears, we depart…
Tell me what you think of these first drafts
i enjoyed your poems.
maybe they look better displayed this way ?
