Almost 320 million live here, you can gather thousands of people for just about anything. Millions pack high school football stadiums all over the country on Friday nights.............

We will see how serious America really is over soccer the next couple of years. World Cup ratings for USA were good but nothing outstanding in the other matches..... Expect a dramatic dropoff in American media coverage now that the USA is out which was all we were talking about anyway.

World Cop ratings still were not at the Olympic level

Americans love America and the Bandwagon.....

I doubt the US will ever get the beautiful game. It's like expecting a teenager to understand why Beethoven is worlds apart from Rhianna.

That's just a question of cultural conditioning though, so is this. I think it really does have the potential to take off in the US in the long run, but that is dependent upon the MLS taking root and being regarded as an equal to at least the NHL in terms of sports. If the US can start producing world quality footballers and withholding them for a few years in the MLS, then it may just become a cultural norm to be a soccer fan, as it were. Right now, you have to say the MLS is of a similar standard to the SPL or League One; that needs to change.
