    Hi all,

Im currently on my taster week to start an Access to Science course in sept this year.

My plan was to apply for a student loan to cover living costs whilst taking the course as ive heard its very intensive and working full time is not advised.

I was told today though that you cannot get a student loan whilst on an Access course which is leaving me really worried. What other options do I have to support myself whilst in full time education?

I have my own (council) flat, so bills to pay. And I also have 2 young children that I pay CSA to and they stay at mine from Fri afternoon until Sun eve.

Your college may offer some money for travel costs and books but there isn't any help for rent or bills.

I'm doing the access course too you can get a 24+ Learning loan but I don't know the ins and outs of it as I'm 21 so not elidgible for it. I hope this helps and you find a means that will help you finanicially throughout your time at college!
