Im getting operated on for my allergic rhinitis where Ill be under general anaesthetic where they'll remove part of the component inside my nose that filters the air.
I would like to research this further so if anyone knows what this surgery is called or what the air filter in the nose is called that would be great!

I think they're called nasal turbinates

It sounds as if they're reducing what're called your nasal turbinates, i.e. a turbinectomy. Of course you should ask your surgeon what the exact procedure is, as there are variations of this
