I have just started A Level Mathematics with the Statistics with a distance learning provider.

The course materials I have got follows the AQA Specification. I am thinking of doing the Maths A Level with Edexcel when it comes to taking the exams as a private candidate.

Is Core 1,2,3,4 and Stats 1 and 2 got the same topics as with the AQA exam board.

So doing the 3 units from my course materials will be ok for me to sit the Edexcel papers instead of AQA.

I have noticed that Indices is tested on Core 2 in AQA and 1 in Edexcel for example

Is there any reason you want to do the Execel board for the actual exam?

You'd have to read the specifications very closely; I imagine they are 90% covering the same topics just not necessarily the same order, but there may be some differences. It seems like an unnecessary risk, but as I say the only way to know is to compare the syllabus for both.

    I'm also doing edexcel.
Is there any reason of why you want to change it? Why not stick to your own exam board - AQA?

    Edexcel Maths
So there's Core 1, Core 2 and Stats 1 in the first year.
And Core 3, Core 4 and Stats 2 in the second year.

    These are all the books:

Why don't you just do the Edexcel specification then do the exam on that?
