    Hey,
I have a place at Manchester uni but I am not so sure whether I am going to take it or not as I am an international student and I might be going to the US.
I was just wondering what life is like in Manchester. What do students do for fun (other than drink...not really an alcohol person)? And does it really rain alot?

I am going to study physics, but was also wondering if I could take some lessons or courses in music at the uni itself. I seem to remember that Man uni had a good music scene. Anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks!

Students tend to do all sorts for fun aside from the usual (booze, sex, drugs being the usual) there's lots of museums, cinema's, parks, workshops and tourist attractions that can be fun to check out

It does rain a lot here (it's England, it rains EVERYWHERE lol)

As far as lessons in music go, you should be able to take some as long as it doesn't interfere with your physics course and you let them know you want to do some music lessons during your enrolment

Thanks for the info PJEffect. With regards to the music, do you mean music lessons provided by the university or independent?

If the music lessons are provided at your chosen Uni then they should let you do them provided they don't interfere with your course work (this is different for each uni though so you should ask them about it, they'll be able to tell you more0
