20 years old and just finished my second year of uni. Figured I NEED to get a driving license this summer. I have a provisional but have just been lazy in learning to drive. Have only ever had a couple of lessons by my dad (drove around a block with no traffic in spain when we were visiting family and had a rented car) so I'm basically a newbie.

How many hours (roughly) did it take you to pass the practical test? I read somewhere that the national average is 47 hours but obviously I can't tell if I'll require more or less hours. I figured I need to do it before going back to uni rather than changing instructor half-way through and have about 11/12 weeks. Would 4 hours (2 2-hour lessons) a week be too much? That would probably do.

Also, my dad hardly works now so he'd be able to give me lots of extra practice pretty much whenever I need it as I'm sure he'd want me to spend as little money as possible on professional lessons in order to pass (will obviously practice somewhere deserted when with him).

I did 34 paid lessons with an instructor. I did about 10 to 15 hours with family members. All of this was over the course of about 3 months, or less.
