hey, I used to be really shy when I was younger. When I went to secondary school I came out of my shell a bit more but was still quiet. Now I'm in my second year of 6th form and I just seem more confident in myself for no real reason. I think I slowly started to put myself in situations that I wouldn't normally be comfortable in from silly little things like talking to someone at a bustop. (even if it was a question about the time).

You've probably heard it before but try not to worry about next week too much. The more thought you put into it, especially if its negative, the harder it will be. What type of work experience are you doing? Ive learnt that being nervous isn't always a bad thing as there will be people there who will want to help you out, lead in the right direction and what not.

If you want to talk about anything, even if its just talking about conversation topics, im here itll be good to make some new friends as i'm new to the student room.

Ok thanks I started work experience today (being a kitchen assistant in a local cafe) and although I tried not to be shy, I failed miserably! I'll take your advice and try to start small conversations like at a bus stop or on a train etc.
Sometimes I just feel like digging a hole and burying myself into it, but it's not going to solve my problems so I'll have to try harder.

Well even if today you didnt feel too comfortable it might improve. And i know the bus stop things sounds stupid aha but it works did you get to deal with the customers or were you in the kitchen all day?
