    Hey,

I've just received my letter from Student Finance England, and I am legible for the full £9000 tuition fee, £4669 maintenance loan, and a £1773 maintenance grant (£6442.00 in total).

I'm going in to my second year and I received a similar amount last year. However - my rent will be going up in September and the combination of this loan and grant after the rent is paid will only leave me with about £15 a week to live on - almost nothing considering I have to pay for bills, groceries, travel etc.

I was wondering if there is anybody I can contact in regards to getting my maintenance loan extended. I'm currently -£500 in to my student overdraft and I haven't even finished first year yet.

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

There are a couple of options we would recommend for you:

*Please call us on 0300 100 0607 so we can access your account and check you have claimed the maximum level of support available to you from Student Finance England
*Please contact your university/college to check if you qualify for any hardship payments. This is often referred to as the 'Access to Learning' fund.

We hope this information helps you.

    Thanks
