So, I will be an international student at Roehampton this fall and both of my parents have asked me several times if I want them to come with me when I move over to the UK just to help me get settled.

Honestly, for me it sounds good to bring them (or one of them) as they can help me with my luggage etc. and I want them to see where I'll be living and stuff if that makes sense.

Basically, what I'm wondering is if this would be strange or if it's a common thing to do for international students.

Does it really matter whether it's "strange" or "common"? Everyone else will be doing whatever's most convenient for them, so why don't you just do whatever's most convenient for you?
