An odd question about the pill

Ok, so further to my "Getting the pill" thread that I started at the weekend, my doctor prescibed microgynon for me today. She told me I could start it today because I am on my period right now. Does the fact I have taken it mean my period won't continue for the rest of the 3 days it should? :confused:

your period will continue as it doesnt automatically stop it on the day you take the first pill.

Ah good old Microgynon, I think almost everyone is given that, it must be a cheap one!
