I'm applying for a P.e Teaching assistant apprenticeship and have come across a question that i'm not too sure about how to answer. the question is How will you support the school's sports coach in delivering quality sports provision?

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help and look forward to hearing from you.

You could say things about pastoral care; how will you encourage less able pupils to try harder, how will you tackle sports and fitness related bullying, how will you make sure teams are fair, how will you get pupils motivated, how will you attempt to fairly share teaching and physical resources across ability groups?

You could also say things about administration like making and completing registers, organising sports events, ordering equipment, filing effectively, dealing with incidents, maintaining health and safety, etc.

Thank you so much groundearth! Is Sports provision more to do with things like registers, dealing with incidents and ordering equipment etc?

I don't know, but I'd think it would be a mix of practical and administration work. Sports provision sounds like a combination of providing actual physical sport, combined with the ways you can administratively provide it. You can't have one without the other so you should be involved with a great deal of both in the apprenticeship

Ok Groundearth thanks again. Do you think that there will anything else involved except for "You could also say things about administration like making and completing registers, organising sports events, ordering equipment, filing effectively, dealing with incidents, maintaining health and safety, etc." I just really want to ace this application!

I have a level 2 double distinction in sports science if that's any help but that's more to do with the body rather than the practical side, if you think i may be able to incorporate it some how.
