Better to get to know someone before starting a relationship? Watch

Have this up to prove a point.
So, there is this guy I know who has got himself a new girlfriend...after only knowing her for 5 days. However he had been leading on one of my friends for months, and she liked him a lot, and is really upset as he claims "he didn't notice he was".
So, opinion time: is it better to get into a relationship with someone you know well or dive into one with someone you've known less than a week?

With someone you know is more sensible, but whatever you do the relationship might not work out, so just do wtf you wanna do

Meh, I knew my current partner for about a month before we got together, went on plenty of dates, tested the waters and spoke a lot before we decided to make a commitment, you actually have to know you like the person!
