I have a little bit of a complicated situation. I found out about UCL masters program in crime sciences about a month ago and have been thinking and researching about it almost every day since.
But! I am enrolled in Master's certificate program here in Canada. It's a 1.5 year program in criminal analysis, but it's equivalent to first year graduate degree. It doesn't award masters degree; whoever wants to applies to other places to write their dissertation.
So when I apply, would the grades from my most recent institution and/or relevant studies apply for GPA estimate, or ALL classes I took would count?
I have Bachelor's in sciences from UBC, but that degree just went wrong from the very beginning. grades suck. On the other hand, I'm acing my current graduate courses, I also have undergrad level certificate in forensics with pretty good grades; and a number of references letters and head of my program who agreed to back me up, and who's the one encouraging me to apply to UCL.
Any insight on this type of situation? I emailed UCL crime sciences contact, and representative for Canada about 10 days ago, no response so far.
