I want to do the degree where one year I get to study abroad. I have already got offer for original three year degree (the one without the year abroad) but I want to do the other one.
But my parents will never allow this. They're already angry enough that I didn't get accepted for Medicine and decided to do other course instead. And now they think I am wasting my life. If I tell them I want to do extra year of studying abroad, they will just explode with anger.
How can I be more rational and explain that this is what I want. Studying abroad and being free for a year is a rare opportunity for the likes of me who are always restricted by parents.
How can I persuade my parents to study abroad? Watch

Not an uncommon situation in TSR.

Studying abroad is really great for increasing your career prospects (obviously it is down to you to use it to sell yourself at interview). It is very well received by employers though - perhaps you can explain it in terms of long term vision and the fact that it will hopefully help you get a better job?
