I've just finished my alevels and I'm considering taking a gap year just to work and save some money for uni ,improve myself ,my wardrobe and do driving lessons.
    I'm on 2 minds about it :/

If it's purely for those three reasons, I wouldn't. I'm driving now, lessons don't take up much of your time, not enough to need a gap year. Your wardrobe? Whaaaaaaat? And you'll need a job while you're at uni anyway, cause it's not all day everyday.

In the end, it's up to you and is your decision- however I would personally just go to uni now if it is only for those reasons. You can get a part time job whilst at uni to earn yourself money- and use that to improve your wardrobe (although I'm sure it's not that bad anyway!)

Also, driving lessons really won't take a year to do- you could probably be done by September if you started learning now- depending on how booked up your local centre is and how often you can get out to practice!

If you really are set on a gap year, why not do travelling and work as you travel? That way you can earn money but also expand your knowledge and understanding of the world and different cultures- and this may help to "improve yourself"

Uni's will ask why you took a gap year, and realistically you're going to want to give them a good reason that will wow them into making them want to take you! Personally, I would go now- as you can do all that you stated whilst you are at university- however the ultimate decision is up to you!

I felt like this and have decided to take a gap year, to try new things, earn some money and hopefully to travel and 'improve myself' so I will be likely to have a better time at uni, after a year of doing things I enjoy

If you want to take a gap year do it! It can be an amazing experience if you also chose to travel around that year!
