Hi there, was just after a bit of reassurance really.
Myself and someone else seem to have a fairly similar dissertation topic going into 3rd year. It's something I'm really
interested in but of course I don't want it to clash with the person who has something similar. Of course I don't plan to discuss to them about it. However all the tutors and lecturers and person leading the dissertation has expressed no concern at all. Basically as long as we didn't do the same location they thought all would be fine. So maybe I've answered my own question but I assume just because the topic may be very similar there won't be a problem. Surely we should end up with different research questions anyway. I suppose it's like
an essay in that everyone has different approaches. I was just hoping and wanted reassurance that just because 2 people have similar dissertation topics in the same year it won't be a problem come to markings. As I have said my supervisor etc seems to think there won't be an issue. Many seem to adopt similar dissertations from past years so hopefully there will be trust that we will have gone about this in our own ways.
