So, i am doing level 3 Btec Engineering.

To get a merit overall, i needed to get A merit in all 3 units which i haven't. But i got Merit in 2 units.

    So the question is:

not sure how many units i am supposed to be doing next year, let's say six, if i got a merit in five of those units and a distinction in one, will my overall grade be a Merit.

    And also this,

I got merits for 2 units last year but not all. And because i didn't do all the merits for all the units, do the merit tasks i've done for the other units still be counted?

The merits from other modules wont be counted unless you merited the unit overall and if you're doing 6 units next year and you get 5 merits 1 distinction then yes you'll have a merit.
