Ok so I've finished my first year reading history at uni and have become interested in taking a law conversion course after I've completed my degree in 2016. I understand I would have to take the GDL, which I'd expect to complete in 2017.
However, I've read a bit on the sparsity of training contacts and several people have mentioned applying for a training contact before undertaking the GDL. I also know I would have to fit some sort of work experience and vacation scheme before I graduate, but that's another story.
So what I want to know is should I think about applying for training contacts now for 2016, before I've comepleted my GDL? this is only because there are deadlines for 2016 applicants coming up within this month.
Is it even possible to do that despite not completing the GDL?
OR should I wait a year and try to secure a training contact for 2017/2018, presuming I would complete my GDL from 2016 to 2017?
Sorry if this is confusing, I just want to know what's the best way to approach this!
