I'm applying to University later this year. I'm looking at applying to Economics and Business courses across a range of unis. Finding good books for Economics is easy, however I'm struggling to find any good ones for Business and/or Management. Any ideas?

Definitely the first time someone has said to me that they find Economics books easier to find than Management. That's probably because I enjoy reading the latter .

On a more serious note, I didn't find any pre-course reading essential. What it did do was put my thought process into a more 'Business' mindset. Almost every course you will do will have Michael Porter's theories involved. He's a guru of Corporate Strategy and although many businesses don't apply his analysis on a day-to-day basis, his theories are still considered to be 'goldust' by many Consultancies (and consequentially accepted by businesses). Read up on him for sure and what he said.

I also recommend reading some interesting biographies of well known entrepreneurs (e.g. Howard Schultz of Starbucks or some company histories such as Lego or IKEA). These will give you a great foundation for your course as you'll have very concrete examples to include in your assessments during the course.

I hope this helps but please don't hesitate if you have any more questions.
