    Hi,
I will be starting my graduate entry medicine course in a couple of months but my maintenance grant application was rejected by SFE. When I contacted SFE, they said it's because we get an NHS bursary but this isn't the case in the first year - we do not get NHS support in the first year. I was counting on the support from SFE so this news is a real blow.

Are there any graduate entry medics on the same boat? Mark, are you able to confirm that graduate entry medics are not eligible for a maintenance grant? I can't seem to find this information anywhere on the www.

    Hello

As you are a graduate entry and already hold a degree you do not get full funding. You are entitled to apply for a maintenance loan and a partial tuition fee loan of £5315, with any extra owed to be self funded for your first year. From the second year onwards you can also get help from the NHS.

    Thanks
