I was watching a TV show (Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, Season 4, Episode 5 Supersymmetry) and a character started screaming with joy upon seeing her article in a physics journal. Cue the humorous concern that someone's under attack until they realize it was her, upon which someone comments "Must be a Texas thing".
It set me thinking. Personally, I've always screamed with joy upon seeing good results, from tests or auditions or what-have-you (although never in public). I did it this morning when AP scores were released. Most of my friends do the same, although we were all born and raised in Texas. So: is it really just a "Texas thing", or is it a worldwide phenomenon?

My baby brother tends to scream with happiness a lot. He's the only one I know to do so.

I don't do it, but I'm generally a very quiet person.
