I read this blog post over the weekend and it has inspired me!

Getting a good bargain is quite rewarding and good for the bank account! Instead of spending £300-£400 on commuting bike I decided to go frugal and bought a beaten up (but very sturdy) giant mountain bike. For £30 it was a great deal - the front derailleur needs replacing (or just taking off and turning into a fixed gear!)

If you have a good bargain story then post it here!

Not quite in the same league, but I got a second hand roadie on ebay for less than a third of the price the original owner paid for it, despite only having it about 6 months. Counts as a win for me. £750 bike for £200? I think so.
