So a few weeks ago my best friend who I have feelings for cut me off completely because I was being too clingy and dependent etc. Long story short, he told me to "stop texting" so I did, and then I spent the week just realising my mistakes and trying to improve and decide what I want. I do love him and want his friendship over anything we've been through a lot together, and he's admitted in the past he loves me.

Anyway last Thursday after 5 days of not speaking he texted me apologising if he was harsh, and told me to work hard and keep in contact. So this weekend we had a great day together.

What is going on? Is he reconsidering his feelings? Does he feel guilty for cutting the friendship off? I don't know what to make of it, but I have to say I'm happy about being on good terms.

He doesn't feel the same way towards you and was obviously scared and freaked out. But he loves you as a friend only and doesn't want to hurt you or lose your friendship. Maybe he is right though, a bit of distance would help you move on.
