Would anyone ever buy in bulk with their house mates to get cheaper food, if the large orders where delivered.... for free?

I live on my own (studio flat). I buy my food in bulk. Got enough oats, pasta, chicken breasts and steak to survive a nuclear war, everything else I buy is family sized. Works out a lot cheaper.
But when living together there will alway be one person who takes the piss, even if they start off okay.

I know when I was at uni we would place a large order consisting of what we personally wanted and then divided it up when it arrived. Did brand affect any of you when on a money saving exercise?. After all money is for alcohol and so euro shopper tuna was enough for me.
