I am about to do an Access Course this September, but am due to move out around the same time. Finances will be really tight, but how the next couple of years go, will really effect what I do for financial help this year (loans, etc), as I will also have to do a master.

I am looking to do a social work course next year, or counseling, or something similar as I want to be a relationship/sex therapist.
I will have to do a masters after Uni.

If I do a course like this, Social work, counseling, do I have to pay for the course. As a friend was telling me, if I do a social work course, I will get a loan but as it is social work related...I don't have to pay it back?

Does anyone know anything about this? I know I would be entitled to a bursary.

    Hello
Unfortunately they have recently changed the way bursaries work for social work students. As the course has changed and there are now no placements during the first year no bursaries are awarded until the second year of study. These are also not means tested but given out dependant on achievement and attainment of your first year.

If you look on the nhs social work bursary website there is more information on there.

    Hope this helps x
