    Hi guys,

I hope your internship or application process is going well.

Just a word of warning guys, Citi can withdraw an offer for a summer internship. Unfortunately that was the case for me couple of weeks ago. My offer was withdrawn and the only explanation I got was "change of business environment". Citi refused to answer any of my questions hiding behind confidentiality of information.

After trying to speak to a numerous people I had to give up. Seems like I will be enjoying free summer this year. It s quite disappointing since I had to go through all the stages of recruitment process.

Therefore if you get an internship offer from the Citi it may be wise to keep applying and have plan B.

    Good luck!

What division was this? Presumably they could have given you something else?

This is normal as its due to business needs, but they should have simply relocated you. Did you go through that route?
Can you be compensate for it? They practically stopped you from applying elsewhere/getting offers elsewhere.... What if you rented and were under contract for the whole summer? They should refund that...
Last but not least, could have told them to provide you with an internship for next year? Or a fast track to final round for a grad position?

Ouch OP. Definitely try negotiate some sort of arrangement with them. Don't leave empty handed. You did well to get the offer!

Definitely don't sit there and take this, try and get something good to come out of this. Negotiate for something else, if you try hard enough they should definitely consider you.
