Hi i emailed Kings telling them i will probably end up with BBB and i want to apply for IR which is AAA. (due to extenuating circumstances). They replied: "If you achieve AAA or AAB in your A-Level results then we would certainly consider your application as we accept retake applicants, however if you were to achieve the grades BBB like you mentioned in your message then sadly these are too low for consideration." I understand the last part, that if i simply apply with BBB then there is no chance. But what if i get predicted AAA via my school and resit a few A2 modules to get me my AAA/AAB in my gap year which im currently on (as in the email it says " we accept retake applicants"). thanks

It means if you get predictions of higher than BBB for your resits then they will consider you as an applicant. If they give you an offer and you go on to achieve those grades then you're fine. If your school will not predict you higher for exams you are sitting in a gap year for which you are not being taught, then it's game over until you have better grades in hand and can apply as a known quantity.
