Recent study describing what makes the 'Perfect Gentleman'.

1. Carries you home from a night out when your shoes are hurting your feet
2. Calls you in the morning to make sure you've got up on time
3. Tells you if your skirt is tucked into your knickers
4. Lets you have the last sweet/crisp in the bag
5. Takes your car for an MOT or checks your engine
6. Allows you to pull in front of them in traffic
7. Fixes your computer or laptop for you
8. Quickly notices your new haircut
9. Offers their phone when your battery has ran out
10. Will watch rom-coms with you without complaining

Other items included:

- Will watch the football on their laptop to allow you to watch soaps on the telly
- Return your shop purchases for you, to save you having to do it
- Offer your newspaper while on the train
- Make conversation with your friends
- 'Like' your facebook photos
- Insist on driving you somewhere if it's raining
- Share your umbrella at a bus stop or flag down a taxi for her to get home
- Sleep in the spare room after a night out so that you do not disturb her

What do we think - is this really 'the Perfect Gentleman', or is it really the 'Perfect Slave'?

Neither, it is just a nice person, but a few of the traits are a rather "I need him to do X for me so I can have what I want" type of traits.

So that is what, just selfishness?

1. Carries you home from a night out when your shoes are hurting your feet -Would be nice, but I could survive otherwise
2. Calls you in the morning to make sure you've got up on time - ew needy
3. Tells you if your skirt is tucked into your knickers - again, decent
4. Lets you have the last sweet/crisp in the bag - maybe once in while, always is a bit desperate
5. Takes your car for an MOT or checks your engine - then I would be reliant on him; no thanks
6. Allows you to pull in front of them in traffic - :lolwut:
7. Fixes your computer or laptop for you - useful
8. Quickly notices your new haircut - not necessary
9. Offers their phone when your battery has ran out - any good friend would do this
10. Will watch rom-coms with you without complaining - nice of him

Other items included:

- Will watch the football on their laptop to allow you to watch soaps on the telly - I don't watch soaps
- Return your shop purchases for you, to save you having to do it -
seems stupid
- Offer your newspaper while on the train - if they're done with it?
- Make conversation with your friends - this is just polite
- 'Like' your facebook photos - as if I give a ****
- Insist on driving you somewhere if it's raining - would say no unless he's going in that direction
- Share your umbrella at a bus stop or flag down a taxi for her to get home - polite
- Sleep in the spare room after a night out so that you do not disturb her - don't care

Maybe not selfishness, more like being a 'needy *****", just as the poster above me said.

1. Carries you home from a night out when your shoes are hurting your feet

Lol I don't lift, since logically both of you will have drunk a bit, I don't see it happening without an accident.

2. Calls you in the morning to make sure you've got up on time

Erm....Alarms exist.

3. Tells you if your skirt is tucked into your knickers

Well yeah I'd do that.

4. Lets you have the last sweet/crisp in the bag

Depends, but it's such a minor thing I can't see how it has importance.

5. Takes your car for an MOT or checks your engine

They can drive their own car to get an MOT, I know jack **** about car engines.

6. Allows you to pull in front of them in traffic

]Erm....okay?

7. Fixes your computer or laptop for you

Yeah I'd be okay at that.

8. Quickly notices your new haircut

Usually notice that, will comment but its usually quite a neutral one.

9. Offers their phone when your battery has ran out

Anyone would do that surely?

10. Will watch rom-coms with you without complaining

Yeah I do that a lot.

Other items included:

- Will watch the football on their laptop to allow you to watch soaps on the telly

LOL NO, world cup right now? Not a chance. Most folks have digi-boxes which can record tv, a soap is not live, a match is, hard not to get spoilers of a match so that takes priority I'm afraid. Bar WC I don't bother much anyway so not a big deal.

- Return your shop purchases for you, to save you having to do it

If I'm going into town and it's not a huge detour then yeah I will.

- Offer your newspaper while on the train

....yeah.

- Make conversation with your friends

Erm...that's called acting normally.

- 'Like' your facebook photos

Don't really Facebook much, wouldn't that much tbh.

- Insist on driving you somewhere if it's raining

If they can drive they can do it themselves, otherwise yeah probably.

- Share your umbrella at a bus stop or flag down a taxi for her to get home

Would share umbrella, taxi scenario seems odd, but okay.

- Sleep in the spare room after a night out so that you do not disturb her

Possibly yes.
My point of view, doing all seems overly needy, most are fairly standard as part of being a decent person of either gender.

X
Perfect gentleman? More like perfect doormat.

Why doesn't the woman do something nice, for once? Would it be so much to ask for the woman to surprise the man with a little present?

I suppose many women believe they are entitled to be treated like a "princess", and that merely by having sex with the man and being his girlfriend, they are doing him a favour

Of course I do some of these things for friends and family, but this list is just all give on the man's behalf.
