Hi all! Im doign IB next year and my current options are:
HL - history, philosophy, english or a science
SL - maths, french, english or a science
initially i wanted to do bio HL but i cant due to timetable clash with philosophy, so I had the choice between chem and phys. Ive heard both are very difficult, though i didnt struggle with either at GCSE (i did edexcel board for physics and aqa for chem), and dont prefer either subject really. Instead i thought i'd take english as ive read it supposed to be easier than HL chem or phys. Can anyone confirm this? I want to study history at uni, thus english would compliment it more, but philosphy would too and i thought science may be a nice chance.
Can anyone recommend what to do?? thanks in advance.

I did three essay subjects at HL (English, geography and history) and got 7s in English and history and a 6 in geography but there is no way id have been able to do that if I had done HL Biology instead of SL, as the HL course for bio is huge compared to the SL. I'd do HL English and SL Chemistry if I were you. Equally, drop philosophy, replace it with geography or economics etc and do SL biology, as SL bio is much easier in comparison to SL chem.

Depends on your definition of 'easy' - Chem/Physics can be harder in terms of understanding the content, but English is a lot more subjective and is statistically very hard to get a 7 in due to this.
