Hi all, I'm hoping to apply through clearing this year to undergrad primary education courses (if any places open up) but i don't meet the entry requirements, i have three D's at A-level but to add to this i recently finished a CACHE supporting teaching and learning level three certificate and have been volunteering in a primary school for the past year. i have also been helping run a local scout group and have worked as an outdoor activities instructor with children ranging from ages 5 and upwards. anyways i was wondering whether anyone has any advice or whether i even have a chance at this or whether another route is going to be more suitable. any help appreciated thanks.

p.s i would be applying as a mature student i think as i will be 22 at the end of july

Hello I'm 21 and I studied a BTEC in childrens care learning and development level 3 and I am going to uni in September to study early years education. You can then go on to a pgce through doing a course like what I am doing (childcare related course) which is an alternative route you could take I plan on getting a job in a childcare setting whilst at uni so that I'll still get gaining the experience for when I graduate and look for a job. Hope that helps in any way

You can apply through Clearing for our BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS or BA (Hons) Education Studies then PGCE. Either route would enable you to teach in primary schools.

Our Clearing Hotline 01274 433444 opens at 7am on 14th August. In the meantime, we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
