Hi, I have studied two years of my course quantity surveying, however I repeated my 1st year as I failed it and passed. I want to change my course to construction management however that would mean I would have to do another 2 years. I have already done 3 years. Will I receive funding for my 2 extra years? thanks.

To work out your entitlement to funding, we use the previous study rule. This is 'The length or your new course +1' then minus any previous study. Everyone is entitled to the +1 which is known as a gift year, however you would have used this already if you repeated a year. However long your new course is meant to last, you would subtract the 3 years you have done to find out what you have left in funding years.
