I have just completed my second year at university and achieved a first (a mark of 80). But I have to say I didn't even work hard to get there. Attended probably around 50% of the lectures and did less than 20% of the seminar work during the whole year.

Before I got my results I was saying to myself I'm not gonna get great grades because I simply didn't work hard enough and that I'm gonna change all that by working my socks off next year to push my grades up.

But now (after getting my results) I'm thinking I don't need to because if I got that grade without putting much work in then I'm sure I'll get the same next year. The thing is I don't want to be thinking like that, I want to be challenged by my course and want to achieve a good grade by studying hard for it.

I don't know how it's gonna help by saying all this but I guess I just wanted to rant somewhere
