How much do universities care about attendance as long as you've got your grades??

More info needed.. If you already hold an offer and meet it, they aren't allowed to reject you for having bad attendance at college. If you're about to start applying, some universities might not offer you a place if you've got a worryingly low attendance and no extenuating circumstance to explain it (eg health problems).

Unless your college mentions your attendance on your reference they won't even know, so don't worry about it.

Why is your attendance so low?

You don't have to put it anywhere on your application. The only time it would be mentioned is if it was in your reference, and even then it isn't obligatory.
