Depends, In my opinion this is the only way ugly women have the chance of getting a good looking bloke to give her a child.

Yes, it's sad :frown: It doesn't seem like the most fulfilling life.
well its not sad to go out and get drunk but the wrong bit is not using protection, one silly mistake can ruin your social life, unfortunatly more of todays generation are doing it and not realising the consquences.
It is often unfortunate. I dont think anyone plans such a thing, and you are probably wrong in saying a lot of the younger generation are all for it, (although maybe a minority) they generally just dont think. So yes it is sad, if you mean it in the unhappy sense.

Ok I'l tell, basically this has happened to my friend and my parents and others are always calling her (my mum says she has learning difficulties which isn't true!) I feel sorry for her she hardly ever goes out and the one time she does, all this happens:frown: The good thing is she doesn't seem bothered by it at all so why can't my parents and other friends just mind there own buisness? I see lots of other single mothers who are respected yet everyone thinks there is something wrong with my friend!.
Maybe becoming a single mother is not the best thing to do in the first place, but i have a lot of respect for single mothers who manage to bring up kids on their own. It's not easy, and they have to sacrifice a lot. Maybe when your friend has proved herself able to bring up this child people's perceptions of her will change.

Hopefully, at least she is really looking forward to it, people keep saying that she will never work again but as long as she is managing thats not a bad thing at all! She has bought all of its clothes up to age 4 lol:p:

They aren't so silly . . .you get away from a horrible home-life, get your own flat (paid for by the State) .. .Bob's your Uncle.

yeah, of course it's sad. it's not really helped by satire either. it is a real problem in modern britain. and i must stress, nothing has changed in history. women who have babies in their late teens are in fact more traditional than those women who wait til late 30s. this is because girls used to be married off in their late teens and had children. HOWEVER, the problem that IS new is that of modern yob culture- like the idea that ANYONE can have sex when they feel like it etc.

Is it sad to go out one night, get drunk, realise that your pregnant a few weeks later then have a baby and be a single mother living with parents? Ive noticed that the older generation say that this type of thing is sad and wrong and yet a lot of younger people seem all for it. (Not that im planning on doing this btw lol)

Yes, I'm sure people go out on one-night stands with the intent of raising a kid for the next 18 years. Nicely argued.

Every time i have ended up sleeping with someone no matter how drunk either of us were we have always remembered to use protection so personally i don't believe anybody has an excuse.

Maybe you haven't been drunk enough, but you might be right.

My mates a single mum and although she loves her daughter its hard for her to watch us going out whenever we want and we have more money than her and she has to plan a lot of stuff ahead of time to arrange childcare.
There's always been people that do this, it has become more prevalent in this age and it is rather tragic. Its not a nice life.

I don't believe in the having children before marriage thing either.

you got a good point there, no excuse really for not using protection.

I have to agree really. It's not exactly a stable environment in which to raise a child.

Damn Single parents...

On a more serious note, I have a great respect for them(if they are actually good parents) since I was raised by one...
