I was very happy to be starting a part time teaching course in September. Unfortunately I am now slightly worried.

I have recently been informed that I need to find my own placement. I spent the weekend writing to lots of schools, academies and colleges. Today I received my first reply from one of the institutions indicating that the school only excepts placements if my college pays the school to do so.

If that is the case for most schools and colleges then I may have difficulty finding a suitable placement.

I have just received another reply and it's not looking good it seems because institutions have school direct they are less likely to have the likes of myself to be given a placement.

It seems I could truly be in trouble.
I don't know whether to look at a level 4 teaching assistant course for this year instead and look to do a school PGCE at a later date.

If that is the case I would be grateful for any recommendations.
