I have been offered a place at Aston for Computing Science, but I keep worrying if I won't be able to cope with the course. Does the university make you understand the course well? Sorry but I'm just a bit worried that's all.

Can't say I'm sure about Computing Science, but Chemical Engineering was pretty straightforward, we started off really slow, doing A level stuff for most of 1st year. You get your share of good and bad lecturers everywhere though.

Don't worry too much about it, you'll be fine, just pre-starting nerves

University is about self study there is no guided study anymore, so If you want to ask one of your lecturers something you have to book a meeting with them.

Basically most lectures are the lecturer reading out a power point and that's it. They give you some suggested reading which you have to do and expect you to read up on other things off your own back.

It can be a big shock to some students.
