Some research has just come out suggesting that neonicotinoid pesticides could harm birds as well as bees.

The controversial pesticides were banned by the EU last year following research that said they were harmful to bees (it's a temporary ban which can be renewed). Now it looks like it can harm birds as well.

It's a good thing an application for an "emergency exemption" to the ban failed recently.
