I am hoping to buy a laptop soon and I want to know which one would be best at a cheap price. Does anyone have suggestions? I would also like for the laptop to have a good battery life too.

Do you want to take it to every lecture? Then I would go with a 13 or max. 14 inch screen model. If you'll leave it at your dorm most of the time, 15 or even 17 inch screens are best.

If you don't play video games on it or do video editing, an Intel i5 processor is fine, but make sure it has at least 4 gigabytes of RAM, maybe even 8.

I can recommend the ProBook like from HP, not so much the Pavilion line. ThinkPads from Lenovo are pretty good too, very sturdy.

Chromebooks are pretty cheap and you can export your cloud files into Microsoft Office types so you can easily export it to a Memory stick if you wanted.

I have the same problem my laptop is an hp compaq that is now 7 years old (almost eight) and it's having some problems now and I think that going to university is a good time to invest in a new one, the thing is: I don't want it to be expensive, but I don't want something that won't last either. I will be doing psychology so nothing related to video, image and gaming is necessary =) thanks ^^
