    Hi all

I haven't been on these forums since earlier in the year. I learnt I wouldn't be getting a place on a graduate entry medicine course to start in September and after spending several months in a pit of despair (i kid i only spent about 3 weeks in the pit) I have decided to start frequenting the forums in prep for application to 2015 GEM.

Now to the point, I have just registered for the GAMSAT and and was wondering about special considerations for Dyslexia etc.

I have dyslexia and possible dyspraxia and have trouble with reading speed and writing speed. i get horrible cramps in my hand after only 10-15 mins of solid writing.

I did the GAMSAT last year and did not apply for special testing conditions and felt I was held back particularly on the essay due to these cramps. The information provided by ACER about applying for special conditions is sparse. It basically just says apply by the 8th Aug with suitable supporting documents. Nothing about what special arrangements they make.

Is anyone in a similar position? Has anyone done the GAMSAT with special conditions? What can I expect?

    Cheers Gang

People with dyslexia get an extra 10 minutes in the essay section, IIRC. If you have the appropriate documentation, apply for it by all means.

Don't think hand cramps are really matter; I get hand cramps after a couple of minutes, write either legibly and stupidly slow or a fast, incomprehensible scrawl. It's more down to technique and just being used to writing essays by hand.
