# maths, logarithms Watch

1. log2a/b=log2a/log2b is not true in general. it may however be true for certain values of a and b. if a=16 what must b=?
2. log216 = 4

so 4/b = 4/log2b

it's not true for a = 16, just google 4/x, 4/log2(x) and U.C.Y.

and maybe you should use brackets because it wasn't clear whether you were referring to (log2a)/b or log2(a/b)
3. Try starting by writing the general equation for log2a/b .. then equate this to log2a/log2b .. then when you try to solve it you get a quadratic expression. the solution of this quadratic expression will give you answer.

I am pretty sure she is referring to log2(a/b) . You get a proper answer if you use this and it makes more sense.
