I played football at a Sunday league team for the last 2 years but I've decided to stop. I wanna stay active and stay involved in football.

I've been thinking about being a referee. I can do a course over summer which costs around £100 which will qualify me to referee. For each match I do on a Sunday morning I get £15-25 and usually referees do 2/3 matches. So £45-70 for a few hours each Sunday morning. I've spoken to the person in charge and he says I'm guaranteed matches to ref if I do the course.

Is it worth it? Will it help regarding experience for future employment?

Never been involved, knew someone who did it once. You're looking to make your money back in 3 weeks assuming times are tough and the world cup didnt inspire kids to play any more than 2 matches each sunday. It'd look cool on your CV aswell, responsibility and working with kids is something everyone places value on unless you're Rolf Harris. I'd consider it mate. Good luck with it
