Hi all, apologies if this is the wrong section but I couldnt find anywhere more appropriate for it.

I've just finished A2 and grades permitting will be studying first year maths in september/october. I've not yet been given a reading list, so am after any interesting reads before my course starts.

I've read quite a few basic books (1089 and all that, alex's adventures in numberland, etc) so am after anything you've read where you've thought "Damn, I wish I'd seen this before starting X module!" The purpose is a mix between pleasure and preparation, so I anything intense is alright, but light is fine too.

(Anything economics/physics related might be alright too)

    Thanks in advance,

Liebeck's 'Concise Introduction to Pure Mathematics' has plenty of material to get you started! It's more about doing work than "fun reading", but that's no bad thing
