A sturdy backpack or a cute tote/messenger bag?

I usually carry a backpack. I only bring a tote if I'm not carrying much, or not doing much. Over-the-shoulder bags are REALLY bad for your shoulder and back muscles, and backpacks are fairly easy and convenient anyway. It's easier if you wear something with pockets for your wallet and phone though.

A bin bag for all the body parts.

Usually used one of those canvas shopping bags you can get from primark for £1. Also had a messenger bag that I'd use when it was raining.

New balance backpack - soo comfy and big enough for everything. better than my old over the shoulder bag which did my back in!
